Days before the lockdown this lovely couple tied the knot in a micro wedding at the Fairyhill magical house & gardens in Wales.
Melissa choose our best seller Juliet dress, a gown that fits perfectly with the romantic and fairytale vibe of the venue.

How did he propose?
Matthew proposed at Southern down beach in South Wales the day before my 24th birthday. It was a cold crisp day in January and we sat at the top of the cliff. It was the perfect proposal, just the two of us and Matthew asked me to be his wife! We chose the ring the following day together.

I went to Eva Ashley bridal in Swansea to find my dress. The girls were incredible and made me feel so special. I met the girls at a wedding fayre at Oldwalls, Gower and we were talking about Riki Dalal. I showed them the dresses I love and I was ecstatic when they told me that stocked them! I booked an appointment to try my first dresses the following week!
What made you pick a RD dress?
The Riki Dalal dresses are all so beautiful. I knew I didn’t want a traditional white dress, but I didn’t want anything too ‘out there’. I especially loved the Juliet dress because of the champagne skirt. Being so pale, I was never going to suit white and this colour was perfect for my skin tone! The Juliet dress had been seen on a few brides at our venue, Fairyhill in the Gower and I just loved it. It fits perfectly with the romantic and fairytale vibe at the venue. I tried on a few Riki Dalal dresses including melody but nothing gave me the feeling that Juliet did. Its beautiful layers in the skirt and 3D flowers really sold me! It was the only dress I really wanted to try on and who’d have guessed that it was going to be THE ONE!! I made some small changes to it as I wanted my dress to be totally unique and I just love how it turned out!
How did you know it was "the one" when you tried it on?
My mum said my face just lit up when I put it on; that’s how I knew it was the one! I didn’t want to take it off and no other dress gave me that feeling! I remember prancing around the shop in the sample dress for so long! It was perfect!
Tell us all about your wedding day!!!
We had the most incredible wedding day on 21st October 2020! Despite everything that happened this year we were determined to become Mr and Mrs! Our original day was 25th October but a week before we heard the news that Wales was entering a lockdown on the 23rd October! So within the space of a few hours, we moved everything forward 4 days! Our venue and suppliers were incredible and Eva Ashley bridal opened their doors especially so I could collect my dress. But it was all so worth it. Fairyhill let us get ready in the bridal suite and bought us up the most incredible breakfast platter! Because of the masks required for the ceremony, we decided to have a first look. This has to be our favorite moment of the day. Despite all the restrictions, we couldn’t have asked for more! We had a small guest list of 27 people and they all made us feel so special but we had over 100 people watching virtually too! 2020 was a year to feel so sad and alone but we are so lucky that we had the most perfect day. We cannot wait to have a second wedding day when the rules allow to celebrate again! And what bride gets to wear her wedding dress twice!!!
Melissa wore our one and only Juliet gown from the Shakespeare collection. Juliet is a fairy tale ball gown with a 3D floral applique top, off-the-shoulder sleeves, and a gorgeous flowing creamy tulle skirt.
